Is offspring a burden? Beyond any doubt, this question might irritate a great number of parents who are ready to face any hardness and sacrifice even their lives only for the sake of their children. There is a number of people including lectures, lawyers, engineers and such educated ones are aiming to be free from children (as per the enquiries) to escape from the obstacles for their luxurious life.
Why are they trying to be free from children? Is the family planning its reason? Surely not! it is a fact that the family mottos such as ‘we two and ours two’ have pervaded within some centuries. Many of us are thinking of decreasing number of children into two or three. They do it without trespassing the religious boundaries and human values. They try to breed them as princes. In other hand, they consider their children as a bit of wax in palm which they can simply mould, as they desire. Generally, there are many parents ready to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their children.
There are uncountable stories about the maternal love towards her child. As the Prophet (Peace and Blessing of Allah be upon him) said that “the Paradise lies beneath the feet of mothers”. Hinduism says ‘children save the soul from the hell named ‘Pum’. Every religious and cultural movement reveals the holly relations between the children and parents
Since the time of giving birth to a child, parents care on him/her accurately often by checking the growth of his arms and legs regularly. They do not think about the profit of loss in breading him. Beyond those selfish thoughts, they feel certain spiritual bliss. This nature separates the human beings apart from other beings. The Almighty Allah has certain schema in creating mates in every living being. It is the existence and grows of a tribal stem. Its basic element is reproduction.
When the human beings began his social life, there came laws for reproduction of mates as well as in other cases. Mates should not live as per their self-interests. Instead, they should have several responsibilities between them and towards society. That was accomplished through the systematic institution named marriage. These parents and their offspring have many responsibilities to each other. These rights and duties make a family life cheerful.
These widely recognized values are being criticized and separated by the new allegers. They put forward some questions and queries about our purpose of spending a lot of money, hard working only for looking after our children. Life is to enjoy, to rejoice by the means of sexual intercourse and to be delightful in material comforts. Hence, the money, we spend for the sake of our children too, simply utilize for the self-lavishness and luxury. What bliss!
They have no answer for our questions that does not have boundaries for this overwhelming bliss? Hasn’t the life more meanings beyond mere sexuality? They desire uncontrollable individual freedom and clime for rights without responsibilities. We know how long this condition decayed the society, especially labor class. Anyhow, the family life should be lapped with responsibility minds.
We see more couples who approach several religious centers and give alms and devotions there, only to get a child. Some others who are ready to spend a large number of their property for test tube children and matrixes for hire. Ironically enough, some one among those people thinks on the fields of abortion and seeks ways to be free from children.
The concept of family without the offspring is widely rooted in western countries, due to the argument for uncontrollable personal freedom. The famous social philosopher, ‘Alvin Tofler’, predicted before years about the couples who desire to be free from children. Experiments on genetics develop as a challenge against even maternity and fraternity. Varieties of families like ‘professional’ parents who consider pregnancy, child breeding etc as a profession. Such as corporate families, moving families etc are increasing day by day. Another prediction of Tofler is that when the couples who utilized their youth lavishly-become aged, they bear the profession to look after some one’s children. All these predictions have been realized in a society. Out of doubt, we are trying to be an open society like the west. |
